From the Board...
Thanks to Jim Roberts of Florida SunCoast Orchids for a very informative program in July. Jim's topic-WHAT ORCHID SHOULD I GROW? If you missed it, you'll never know. (Bad humor-so sorry.)
This month our program will be in-house. A plant sale/swap. Clean out your colllection and bring in doubles, cuttings, and plants you just can't bloom. Potting supplies are OK too.This is a perfect chance to pick up a division of another members favorite plant.
If you've been away for a few months, what a great way to get back in the orchid swing. We can't wait to see you again.
Future programs will include experts from Selby Gardens, a few more growers and a noted orchid conservatinist, and a judge who will tell us what show judges look for. All this for only $20 per year. So, pay your dues and get ready to participate.
Bring in your plants to show. August is hot and blooms are few and far between. We need blooming plants from everyone to show and talk about.
Finally, results of last months survey. Most of you want to hear from growers. We'll schedule several from the area, and maybe an outsidere. You also wanted hands on sessions on dividing plants, potting, and growing tips. We'll also include a party or picnic or two, and maybe a greenhouse visit.
